Daylight Savings Blues: The Last 4pm Swamp Tour of the Season is Saturday Nov. 5

Daylight Savings Time is awesome: All that extra sunlight when we are actually awake and doing something. But every autumn (for now), we must fall back. Standard Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday Nov. 6 this year.

The bonus is we get an extra hour to drink at the bar when 2 a.m. magically turns to 1 a.m. (well, in most of the country; we don’t have a closing time in New Orleans). But the downside is its dark as soon as you get off work and there tends to be a spike in heart attacks.

And for Gators and Ghosts, the end of daylight savings time means the end of the 4pm swamp tour until spring. So if you’re looking to get on the bayou just before the sun sets, this is your last chance.

On the bright side (or I guess the dark side), the 6 p.m. ghost tour is pretty much fully in the dark for the next several months. At any rate, book your tour today!
